“Janel sent me my “Soul Portrait” and it took some time for me to color it. I knew it required me to be “in the moment” with it. I wasn’t ready for months. Finally, I was ready.

As I colored the portrait, I had to decide on the color scheme. Part of me loves bright, cheerful colors. Another part loves muted, deep colors. It was laborious deciding on just the right colors. I found the leaf design to be the perfect segue to transition from bright to mute. It was surprising to me that I was able to incorporate both color schemes into one drawing in a way that works- without planning it! I realized while coloring it that I am ready for Janel to finish the drawing since I have come to a point in life and my career where I feel more complete, more at peace, more confident.

The drawing, and the coloring of it, reflects how I have grown over the years and the path that I am on now. I am forging into a new season of my life. My life is morphing, growing, into something new and I love all the parts, and the chapters, and segments. And I’m totally ready for more.
